NOTE: If you are using a font utility such as Suitcase II or MasterJuggler, it is not necessary to install fonts into your System -- you can use the utility program to open the font suitcases you want to use. If you have any questions, please refer to the font utility's documentation.
To install your fonts using Font/DA Mover (make sure you are using version 3.8 or greater), you need to have the following disks available: Macintosh Utilities Disk 2 and the disks containing the fonts you would like to install. With these available, follow these steps:
1. Make backup copies of your utilities and font disks if you do not have backups.
2. Insert the Macintosh Utilities Disk 2 into an available disk drive.
3. Double-click on the Utilities Disk 2 icon to display the contents of the disk.
4. Double-click on the "Font/DA Mover" folder to display its contents. Drag the Font/DA Mover utility onto your hard drive. You can place it in a new or existing folder.
5. Eject Utilities Disk 2 and insert your font disk.
6. Locate the Font/DA Mover utility on your hard drive and double-click on it to launch it.
7. The Font/DA Mover dialog box is displayed, with the font menu selected. The fonts displayed on the left side of your screen are currently loaded in your System.
8. Insert the floppy disk containing the fonts into an available disk drive.
9. Click Open on the right side of the dialog box and locate the floppy disk containing the fonts you want to load into your System.
10. Select a font by clicking on its name or Shift-click to select multiple fonts. You can also click and drag to select more than one font. With fonts selected, click Copy. The arrows on the Copy button should point away from the font disk and toward the System.
11. Once you have completed installing the selected fonts, click Quit to leave the Font/DA Mover utility.
12. If you are running under MultiFinder, restart your Macintosh.
